Voice typing

Type with your voice in any app, around 4x faster.

Voice typing lets you type with your voice in any text field — around four times faster than typing. It works everywhere you can type: chat apps, documents, email, code editors, and AI assistants. Infina transcribes what you say and inserts it where your cursor is.

The shortcut

PlatformShortcutAction
Mac⌥ OptionHold and speak to dictate

Finding the key

On Mac, use the left Option key, next to Command at the bottom-left.

How to dictate

1

Click into any text field

An email, a chat box, a document, your code editor — anywhere.

2

Hold the dictation key and speak

Hold ⌥ Option on Mac and talk naturally.

3

Release when you're done

Your words appear in place. No button to press, no window to switch to.

Works in every app

If you can type into it, you can dictate into it. That includes chat apps like Slack and Messages, documents in Notion and Google Docs, email, code editors like Cursor and VS Code, and AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT.

Tips for the best results

  • Speak naturally. Talk the way you'd talk to a person — there's no special phrasing to learn.
  • Correct yourself mid-sentence. If you misspeak, just say it again the right way; Infina follows your intent.
  • Don't rush. Clear, natural speech is more accurate than fast speech — accents are handled well.
