Question 1

Is Infina a voice typing app?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Infina is hands-free voice typing and control for Mac and Windows. Speak and it types what you say into any app, sends it, and switches apps for you. No keyboard, no push-to-talk needed.

Question 2

Do I really never touch the keyboard?

Accepted Answer

For voice work, no. Say "type" and start talking. Prefer a key? Push-to-talk is free and unlimited: hold fn and talk. You can change the key in Settings.

Question 3

Is it always listening to me?

Accepted Answer

No. While asleep, the on-device listener waits for the trigger word, and nothing is recorded or sent anywhere. When you do speak, your words are transcribed right on your own computer by the on-device models.

Question 4

Which apps does it work with?

Accepted Answer

Every app. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, ChatGPT, Terminal, Slack, Notion, Gmail, iMessage, Google Docs. Anywhere you can type, Infina can type for you. Plus voice commands to switch apps and drive your terminal.

Question 5

How accurate is the transcription?

Accepted Answer

95%+ for clear speech, with background noise and accents handled well. Your words land as you say them, right where your cursor is.

Question 6

Do I need an internet connection?

Accepted Answer

No. Infina runs the speech models right on your own computer, so voice typing and voice commands keep working with no connection at all.

Question 7

What happens after I download?

Accepted Answer

Open the app and you're talking to your computer a couple of minutes later. Push-to-talk is free and unlimited, forever, on Mac and Windows: hold one key and it types what you say, with AI cleanup. Hands-free, with no key at all, comes with 2,000 free hands-free words to try, and hands-free commands are free. No card required. When you're ready, unlimited hands-free is one upgrade from inside the app, with a 7-day full refund, no questions asked.

Question 8

Is Infina free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Push-to-talk is free and unlimited, forever, on Mac and Windows: hold one key and it types what you say, with AI cleanup. Hands-free, with no key at all, comes with 2,000 free hands-free words to try, and hands-free commands are free. No card required. Unlimited hands-free is the paid plan.

Question 9

Which computers does Infina run on?

Accepted Answer

Mac and Windows, and hands-free works on both. On a Mac you need Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) — the on-device AI that types for you runs on Apple's Neural Engine, which Intel Macs don't have, so Intel Macs aren't supported. If you bought Infina for an Intel Mac by mistake, tell us and we'll refund you in full, no questions asked. On a Windows PC: Requires Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit Intel or AMD). The speech model runs on your own laptop, so it needs at least 4 processor cores and 8 GB of memory. That covers most laptops sold in the last few years, and if one is below the bar Infina tells you plainly instead of listening badly. Not yet tested on ARM laptops (Snapdragon / Copilot+).

Question 10

How does Infina work?

Accepted Answer

Hands-free: say a sentence starting with "type" and it types it, no key at all. Prefer a key? Push-to-talk is free and unlimited: hold Right Alt, speak, release. Either way your text lands in whatever app you're in, wherever your cursor is, so there's no special box and nothing to paste.
