On-Device by Default

Dictation is transcribed on your Mac, so your audio never leaves your device. The cloud add-on is optional, and sends audio encrypted to our cloud providers.

End-to-End Encryption

All data encrypted with AES-256 in transit and at rest.

Privacy Mode

On by default: nothing you dictate is saved to our database unless you choose to turn it off.

Security Vulnerability Reports: We encourage security vulnerability reports and maintain a public Vulnerability Disclosure Policy with reporting guidelines and procedures.

How Infina works

Infina is an AI-powered voice engine that runs on your Mac. It offers on-device voice dictation in any app, plus optional cloud voice actions that drive your Mac - all by holding a key and speaking.

  • Voice Dictation: Type in any app using your voice, 4× faster than typing. Your dictation is processed securely and privately.
  • Voice Commands: Switch apps, drive your terminal, and control your Mac by voice without leaving your current app. Audio is processed securely, and with Privacy mode on (the default) nothing is kept.
  • By default audio is transcribed on your Mac and never leaves it; with the cloud add-on it's sent encrypted and transcribed in real time. Privacy mode is on by default, so nothing is kept at all - turn it off and your dictation history is saved to your account so you can revisit it
  • Cloud features use industry-leading services (Together AI, Groq, GCP, Convex, PostHog) with strict data protection agreements; on-device dictation uses none of them

Audio & Data Storage

We treat your audio and the text it produces differently:

Audio

By default audio is transcribed on your Mac and never leaves your device; with the optional cloud add-on it travels encrypted to our cloud providers and is transcribed in real time. With Privacy mode on (the default), audio is never stored; turn Privacy mode off and your dictations are saved to your account so you can revisit them.

Transcription Text

By default, Privacy mode is on and nothing is saved to our database - the text is typed into your app and forgotten. Turn Privacy mode off and the text from your dictations and voice actions is kept so you have a searchable history.

  • Audio: on-device by default; with the cloud add-on, sent encrypted and processed in real time
  • Text history: off by default (Privacy mode); turn Privacy mode off to keep a searchable history

AI & model training

Your Data is Never Used for Training

We strictly prohibit third parties (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) from using your data - including voice action and dictation content - to train their AI models.
