Installation

Download Infina and grant the permissions it needs.

Infina is a desktop app for macOS. It needs a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer); Intel Macs aren't supported. Setup takes a couple of minutes: download the app, sign in, and grant the permissions it needs to listen to you and type into your other apps.

Which Macs are supported

Infina runs on Macs with an Apple Silicon chip: M1, M2, M3, M4, or newer, including Pro, Max, and Ultra variants (roughly every Mac released since late 2020). The on-device AI that types for you runs on Apple's Neural Engine, which only these chips have.

Intel Macs aren't supported. Not sure which chip you have? Click the Apple menu → About This Mac: if the Chip line says Apple M-something, you're good. If you bought Infina for an Intel Mac by mistake, tell us and we'll refund you in full, no questions asked.

Download and install

macOS

1

Download the app

Go to infina.so and click Download for free.

2

Open the installer

Open Infina.dmg from your Downloads folder.

3

Move it to Applications

Drag the Infina icon into your Applications folder.

Open Infina and sign in

Launch Infina from your Applications folder. The first time you open it, macOS may warn that it was downloaded from the internet — click Open to continue. Sign in with your Google account to finish setup.

Grant permissions

Infina needs a few system permissions to work. You'll be prompted for these on first use, and you can change them later in your system settings.

  • Microphone — so Infina can hear you when you hold a shortcut and speak.
  • Accessibility — so Infina can type into other apps and run voice commands on your behalf.

Enable Accessibility on macOS

1

Open System Settings

Go to Privacy & Security → Accessibility.

2

Turn Infina on

Find Infina in the list and toggle it on. If it's not listed, click the + button and add it from Applications.

Accessibility is required

Without Accessibility access, Infina can still hear you, but it can't type into your other apps or run voice commands.

Try voice typing

1

Click into any text field

A message box, a document, a code editor — anywhere you type.

2

Hold the dictation key and speak

Hold ⌥ Option on Mac and start talking.

3

Release when you're done

Your words appear right where your cursor is.
