How Infina works

The ways you can work by voice with Infina.

Infina is a voice interface for your Mac and Windows PC. You hold a key, speak, and Infina does the rest — typing your words or running an action. There's no window to open and no app to switch into; it works on top of whatever you're already doing.

There are three ways to work with Infina.

Voice typing

Type with your voice in any text field — email, chat, documents, code. You speak naturally and Infina types out your words, around four times faster than typing. This is the core of Infina and the one feature available on every platform.

Hands-free mode

Don't want to hold a key? On Mac, start your sentence with “type” and your words are typed where your cursor is — say “send” and it submits. Say “Infina” for everything else, like opening apps. Infina listens for the trigger words on-device and only starts working when it hears you. It's the same dictation, entirely hands-free.

Voice commands

Say one of Infina's commands and it runs the matching action on your Mac: open or switch between apps, move between tabs, windows and desktops, scroll a page, click a button by name, or fire a keyboard shortcut — all without leaving the app you're in.

These are a fixed set of controls, not an open-ended assistant. The voice commands guide lists every phrase Infina understands, so what you can do is always exactly what you can see.

What Infina does, and what it doesn't

We'd rather you know exactly what you're getting than be surprised after you buy. Infina turns your voice into two things: text in any app, and a fixed set of Mac controls (open and switch apps, move between tabs, windows and desktops, scroll, click by name, fire a keyboard shortcut). That's the whole job, and it does it fast and hands-free.

Infina is not a general AI assistant. It won't take an open-ended request and work out the steps for you: it won't book a flight, write and send an email on its own, or chain a task across several apps. If a command isn't on the voice commands list, Infina doesn't do it yet. Everything we promise is something you can see on that page and try today.

Voice typing and voice commands work on Mac and Windows. Hands-free mode works on Mac, and on Windows laptops with at least 4 processor cores and 8 GB of memory — it runs the speech model on the machine itself. Below that, Infina tells you so, and voice typing there needs the optional Cloud add-on.
