Live transcription with Infina

How Infina listens and transcribes your meetings in real time

How Infina captures transcription

Infina listens to both your microphone and system audio in real time to generate live transcriptions. We never store or save audio or video from your meetings — everything is processed temporarily and securely for transcription purposes only.

When does transcription begin?

Transcription starts only when you take action.

If you're joining from a calendar invite, Infina begins transcribing after you open the notes for that event, starting from the official meeting time. You can choose to start earlier manually if needed.

For impromptu meetings (like Slack huddles or Zoom calls not linked to a calendar), transcription begins as soon as you open the notes or click the meeting notification.

Infina never auto-transcribes a meeting without your input — it always requires you to click in.

Active transcription indicator

The blue dancing bars mean Infina is actively listening and transcribing.

If your internet connection drops or there's extended silence, transcription might pause automatically. You can reopen the transcript window and resume transcription if needed.

When does transcription end?

Transcription may stop in these situations:

  • You manually stop it using the stop button
  • Infina identifies that there has been a long period of silence
  • Resuming transcription

If transcription has paused, you can restart it anytime by opening the transcript window and clicking the Resume button in the top right corner.

    Viewing the transcript

Open your live transcript at any time during the meeting by clicking the "dancing bars" icon. This lets you:

  • Monitor what's being captured in real-time
  • Ensure your audio is being picked up correctly
  • Quickly glance back at what was just said
  • Live transcription may not be 100% accurate. That’s okay — your final notes will still be clean and complete, as long as both mic and system audio are being received.

    Transcription quality tips

    For a smoother transcription experience:

  • Use a good microphone
  • Reduce background noise where possible
  • Speak naturally and clearly
  • Keep a steady internet connection
  • 🎤 Having mic issues? Check permissions and make sure your mic input volume is turned up.

⏱️ Experiencing lags or gaps? It could be caused by a slow connection, VPN, or browser restrictions.
